1. Is yoga for you?
- feel something is missing in your life
- are not happy with your job
- feel stressed or anxious
- are not sure of what you want
- have strong emotions that you cannot control
- cannot stop thinking
- have a physical challenge that makes you feel uncomfortable.
You have been trying to sort out your concerns by looking for external support and you have learnt something from that help, but you still feel inside you that you need more.
You are right, the solution is not outside you, is not in someone telling you what you should or should not do, is not about mechanically and unconsciously doing what everybody else does.
Imagine how it would feel if you could connect with your body through gentle and conscious movement, and through this flowing movement releasing any emotional, physical and mental blockages. Imagine how it would feel to be in a peaceful, supportive and friendly environment that would inspire your deep inquiry and understanding. You would feel empowered, you would get to know yourself better and this would allow you to face life with more ease, serenity and enthusiasm. You would live the life you want to.
So, yes, yoga is for you! Let me explain to you how I know that.
2. my story
Hi, I'm Silvia Sanvito. I know these feelings, I have been through them. I refused to listen to my body because I did not like it and therefore spent my first 30 years misusing it with too little or too much of anything (food, smoking, alcohol, exercise...). I went through many jobs, always unsatisfied and blaming others for my unhappiness. When I felt completely lost, depressed, with a deteriorating health and no job, I realized no one else other than me was responsible for my situation. It was time to take care of myself.
I went to my first yoga class 7 years ago, after years of attraction to it, and something shifted instantly. I was connected to my body, I could sense my emotions changing and my spirit radiating. Since that day a whole new journey has started. I became more successful and started enjoying my job more. A couple of months later I was already practicing at home nearly every day on top of my regular two weekly classes. The understanding of my life path and mission started taking shape inside me, until the day it became obvious that I was going to share this beautiful practice with others and applied to do a Yoga Teacher Training.
I studied (and still am) with the inspiring Katy Appleton and am now a 200 hour teacher trained with appleyoga. I am also a certified Pregnancy, Post-natal, Baby Yoga teacher and Baby Massage Instructor with appleyoga.
As well as a yoga teacher, I am a mum and a life time yoga student looking for inspiration and depth.
3. my teaching
I teach hatha flow yoga, a sequence of yoga asanas (postures) linked together in a flow. The rhythm of the movement is guided by the breath, our life force, and the use of music and inquiry allows you to go deeper.
I believe that there is much more in life than what is on the surface. Underneath our skin there is a full physical system made of muscles, bones, organs...that keeps the surface alive. Underneath that system there is what keeps us alive, the creative energy of the life cycle. Reconnecting with the creative power inside us is reconnecting with the universal power. Infinite power is inside us.
This is what I teach: starting from the body, how to touch and stay connected with the universal power inside us.

"Peace is every step. The shining red sun is my heart. Each flower smiles with me.
How green, how fresh all that grows. How cool the wind blows.
Peace is every step.
It turns the endless path to joy."
